Real Madrid has decided to part company with Zinedine Zidane at the end of the season with talks underway with Joachim Low.

President Florentino Perez has made his mind up after Los Blancos’ woeful La Liga title defence, report Sport.

The Germany manager is the first choice to take over at the Bernabeu.

With Barcelona running away with the title in La Liga, in addition to splashing out almost £300m for Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, the future is bright at the Nou Camp.

Perez has ruthlessly decided to tear up his two-time reigning European champions’ manager with an ambitious move for Low.

The 57-year-old has been in charge of Die Mannschaft since 2006 and while Real would like him to take over for the beginning of the 2018/19 season, the former Stuttgart chief is tied down until 2020.

That would mean substantial compensation for the world champions, though that may not be the issue.

Persuading Low to walk away from one of the most promising generations in German football history will be the main job for Perez.
