Roberto Carlos claims Ronaldo is better than Messi for one reason

The debate over who is better, Messi or Ronaldo seems to be one of the all time questions, but Roberto Carlos thinks it’s Cristiano Ronaldo – and for only one reason.

He thinks that the Real Madrid man works harder than Messi does, and might not be as naturally talented, but his extra drive makes him better.

“These days, when you talk about football, you talk about Neymar, Messi and Ronaldo,” the former full-back told Fox Sports.

“Cristiano has worked to improve. When you talk about the Ballon d’Or or any other prize, it’s not just any person who votes, it’s people who know football, who follow the stats of the players and pick the best in the world.

“I watch him train every day and the way he works is exciting. He wants to improve every day.

One thing Messi will want to do this season is score against Chelsea – something he’s not done yet during his career, and it would certainly be a huge thing – if Barcelona were to knock Chelsea out of the Champions League to boot.

Messi wants to get back to the very top, and looks like he is doing so this season, with Barcelona looking like winning La Liga and according to Pep Guardiola, being favourites for the Champions League as well – and all because of Messi,

Then, in the summer, there is the World Cup, which Messi took Argentina to almost by himself, and winning that would and the debate over Messi not doing enough for his country – and the player knows that.
